Spouse Name: Sandy

Married: 24 years (second time)

Combined family = 4 daughters age 31 to 40 and 11 grand kids ages 2 to 19

After graduation I joined the Coast Guard and served 4 years enlisted.  Out in 1967 I joined the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.  In 1972 I went to Los Angeles and was employed by the Hawthorne California Police Department.  I returned to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department in 1974 and worked there until 1988.  In 1988 I moved to Brighton Police Department where I am currently employed as a Captain.

I have a Bachelors of  Science in Criminology and minor in Psychology from Metropolitan State College and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Colorado.

Both my wife and I love to fish.  We have a Ranger Bass Boat (like Oldfishinbuddy).  My other interests are golf and bird hunting.  We have two Brittany Spaniels who are the hunting companions.  I have just started field trialing with the youngest Brittany.

My wife Sandy is a Manufacturers Sales Representative covering much of southern Colorado selling giftware to such places as The Royal Gorge, Pikes Peak Summit House, Garden of the Gods (Tough job – I wish I had it!)

In high school hung around with Gerald Winchip, Tom and Bill Lay, Dale Phettaplace, “Moose” Johnson and others.  I remember throwing Mike Drinkard down the bleachers one day in assembly (Sorry Mike!!!)  Also remember some good fights.  The  Sebern – Guttenberg sp? fight, the Cornish (don’t remember the opponents name) but remember Steve wrestled his way to a win.

Favorite teacher, actually at the time was not my favorite because she caught me cheating on a history test (by the way the last and only time I cheated. Honest!!!) Lucile Musmanno.  The small world part is that she does consulting work in police testing and consulting and I have had regular contacts with her in my police work.

Retirement is in the near future.  We have a motorhome so the intent (as with a zillion other baby boomers) is to travel, site see and fish.
