What have you been up to for the last 40 years?

Hi everybody !!! Well here is what I have been to doing. I was in the Navy when we graduated so I went to boot camp in July and then went on active duty in Oct. 1963. I was lucky and after a stay in Treasure Island in San Francisco they sent me to Hawaii and then to the island of Kauai and there is where I stayed till I got out . When I got home I bummed around for awhile and  that is when I met my wife to be Judy. We got married in July 1967 and will celebrate our 36th year together on July 1st of this year 2003. We have three kids , April  Ann 35  Candy Sue 30  &  Richard Lee Jr. 28 . April went to Alameda and Graduated in 86 and then married Darlene Neitzel’s son Jim .  Candy is single and graduated from Chatfield , Richard Jr. is engaged to be married and he also graduated from Chatfield . April & Jim have three kids  Michelle 11, Katy 8, and Shayla , 3. They are the apple of grandpa and grandmas eyes and we are happy grandparents . Candy works for an eye doctor and is in charge of the contact dept.  Richard Jr . owns his own home improvement business and builds decks for Richmond homes.

I spent 30 years as an auto mechanic and doing other jobs at the same time . I owned my own auto & RV repair business for a short time and then retired from the auto business. I went to work for Saint Anthony’s  in the business office as a circulation control tech. till I came down with a real bad inner ear infection and have been disabled every since. That is ok!! I live a good life  and do just  fine . I love working in my shop making things out of wood , FISHING !! CAMPING !! and enjoying my family. Judy and I have been to Hawaii for our 30th anniversary  as the kids gave us the trip as a gift . We have great kids!!!

My favorite memory is when Clint Nelson and I would ditch school every other Monday and would call in for each another an report that we were sick.. On one Monday morning Clint called in for me and said that I was dead . Well you guessed it we got caught . To this day I still do not know why he said that and we still laugh about it today.

My favorite songs were Sugar Shack and Chances Are!! The teachers that inspired me the most were Mr. Bundy , Mr. Schranck , Mr. Campbell , Mr. Coon & Mr. Willett . The teachers that I did not like were Mr. Brockman and of course one eyed Tipper. Those two made school a pain .

I miss the school days as I think that our class was the best class to ever come out of Alameda . Life moves on and it is a shame that good friends get separated an lost from each another. God Bless You All stay safe and healthy so we can all meet again in ten more years.

What do you want to do with the rest of your life (the next 50 years!)

I want to enjoy my family, Fish , Go Camping and see the country in my motor home . I want to do whatever it takes to be 100 years old and try to stay in touch with as many of the class mate as possible .
