What have you been up to for the last 40 years?

As our yearbook predicted, I did work intermittently in the medical field as a Certified Medical Assistant and eventually went on to be an EMTI (Emergency Medical Technician IV Certified). Off hours from medicine, I sang professionally with several bands performing in Pine, Colorado and at the Gilded Garter in Central City.  40 years later, my singing talents are reserved for the shower.  Where was the American Idol show when I needed it? Being caught up in the glory of love, marriage and children, I decided to give that a shot (more than once).  The glory turned out to be the children. My son, Jim, is 36 years old, married with 3 wonderful little girls; Michelle 11 yrs, Katy 9 yrs, and Shayla 4 yrs.  Jim, April and girls have a lovely home in Strasberg Colorado, that they share with several animals, from cats to goats.  Jim is an Electronics Engineer with Raytheon for 15 years.  Jim and April both graduated from our Alameda High School.

In 1974 Lori joined our family from Viet Nam.  Lori was just 4 ½ months old when we adopted her and picked her up at Stapleton International Airport.  Now 29 years old, she is a Para with the Northglenn schools, working exclusively with special needs children.  Lori also has established a large clientele for her respite care business, again with special needs children.

I rejoined the workforce in 1987 and have settled in to the Customer Service area with SourceOne Healthcare Technologies in Aurora, just 7 miles from my Aurora home.

What do you want to do with the rest of your life (the next 50 years!)

My plans for the next 50 years include work, grandkids, work, fishing, work, travel and work.  I have no plans to retire, as being totally on my own for only 16 years, finances could not build a solid enough foundation to even consider retirement.  However, retirement will move to the top of my priority plans when I win the lottery.
