Shortly after graduating from
Colorado College, I married George Woolley. We have two wonderful children, a
son living in Wisconsin, and a daughter who is in SanFrancisco. We are most
proud of our two granddaughters who are nine and six.
My husband’s career has taken
us all over the country from New Jersey to Texas and as far north as Wisconsin.
We now live in Indiana but probably have one more move before retirement. I
began teaching elementary school at Columbine Hills in Jefferson County when
George went to Vietnam. After teaching each year in a new state, I finally
settled into a ten year position as an admissions officer at Lawrence
University.
Since moving to Indiana, I
have become a “professional volunteer.” I am most involved with our local art
museum and have worked with an environmental group that is dedicated to planting
trees.
We have been most fortunate
to have traveled extensively. We just returned from two weeks in the
Mediterranean having begun our trip in Barcelona and ended in Athens. For fun,
I love to play tennis and bridge.
I remember our days at AHS
fondly. I loved the Homecoming bonfires and being a Treasurette. I especially
loved attending football and basketball games although I don’t recall how
successful our sports teams were. I also have a special memory of being in the
chorus of “Oklahoma” which was my one and only theatrical/ musical endeavor.
Our reunion will be an
especially wonderful opportunity for me to see my classmates again. My parents
moved while I was in college and I quickly lost track of my Alameda friends. I
wish to thank the Reunion Committee for finding us again!
