Professional history

Began fashion illustrating, then became involved in fine art (especially Western art while living in Denver)  Worked as a silk floral designer and wedding consultant for 7 years (Denver)

1988 moved to Seattle…worked for a large import company as a product designer.  designed 2 lines of collectibles, as well as various other product lines

Traveled to England, and the Orient many times in that position

1995 moved to Dallas…to become the Art Director for Silvestri (interior décor and Christmas lines)

Became an artist/designer for Fitz and Floyd (same owners, but reorganized)  and have continued designing various product lines, including another collectible line

All this time I have been very involved in the Fine Arts………..showing in various competitions and galleries,  although I don’t have as  much time as I would like with this particular job.

Talents and Hobbies…………as mentioned,  painting is my favorite talent/pastime

I did travel to England to do research on a line of porcelain lit houses  that I created.  for the company in Seattle. And, went to the Orient many times on buying trips (Hong Kong, China, Philippines, Taiwan) ………made me really appreciate the USA!

Favorite high school memory………..I did share this in an early classmate e-mail about the 1962 Homecoming pep assembly………..where I had constructed a ‘huge’ wishbone out of chicken wire and paper mache…because the theme for the game was ‘Wish for a win’.  Well the wishbone was supposed to break in the appropriate place during the assembly, and there were some pretty tense moments of yanking that darned thing before it finally did break.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t a big enough wishbone to provide a victory (we lost to Wheatridge).

Another favorite memory was all of the Monday nights spent skating at Roller City

Favorite song…………Everly Bros. ‘All I Have To Do Is Dream’

Favorite teachers……….girls’ counselor  Hazel Nolan  (she became a friend and confidant)  Art teacher, Shirley Wylie

What do I want to do for the next 50 years?

I long to have more time to paint, and travel, ………….and did I mention paint?  And,  I would love to move back up to the Northwest.
