I worked as a dental assistant the first year after graduation,  attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO for two years, then applied and was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program at (then) Rangely, College in Rangely, CO.   I was graduated in 1968 and began my career in Denver.  While working, I met the love of my life, (and one of my patients!), Jim.  He had just returned from a tour of duty with the Army in Germany.  We were married and moved to Ft. Collins.  I worked at my career and Jim finished school, graduating from Pharmacy school at CU in 1976.

We have three sons, Jim is 32, married to Ute, and lives an hour and a half  northeast Frankfurt, Germany. They have two little girls, Rachel and Chrissy.  Jim has him own business in financial planning, investing, insurance and real estatate - all in German!

Ute is a translator for English French and German.  Our middle son, Tim is 26, still single and having a great time snowboarding and working in resort areas.  Jeff, at 20, is our youngest.  He has a little boy, Matthew, who is 3.  Jeff is working and raising his son.  We see them quite often and we really enjoy being grandparents!

I continue to work in Dental Hygiene, but my current boss is the organizer for the Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Highland Festival.  I am the Administrative Coordinator in charge of Merchants, Crafters, Food Vendors, Program Ads, and accommodations for the judges and officials of the Festival.  I love doing it!  The Festival is always the weekend after Labor Day here in Estes.  Come see it sometime!  It's worth it!

Jim and I also have our own internet business which allows us to travel in the states and abroad as we help develop personal franchise-type businesses.  Through that business I have also had training and am a Certified Color Consultant with the Crowning Touch Institute.  I work with both men and women in color and wardrobing.

We love traveling throughout the country and to Europe - Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Czec Republic.

My most memorable High School memories include a sock hop in our sophomore year which I volunteered to DJ with a big reel to reel recorder.  In those days, or at least on that machine, there was no way to mark each song.  I remember about every 10 minutes everyone wanted "Green Onions", and it was a real challenge to find it after several other songs had played!  So much for my DJ days!  I remember the infamous bonfire that was burned down at 2 in the afternoon on Friday and was re-assembled with the help and "donations" of several area builders and even an outhouse!  The rebuilt bonfire was larger and more impressive than the first!  Amazing what we can all accomplish when we have a goal and a deadline!

I thought Mr. Coontz was awesome!  He became one of my patients in the same office where I met Jim.  We had become good friends, and he had told me about him wife and little girl.  I was so saddened to hear of his death from Hepatitis.

My favorite song from our high school years were "Sherry" - 4 Seasons, "Misty" Johnny Mathis, any Ricky Nelson or Pat Boone songs.

We have been truly blessed and our most recent "blessing" is our "miracle" granddaughter, Chrissy.  She was born at 27 weeks, weighing only one pound.  After many prayers and great medical care in Germany, she is developing normally and continues to grow!  She is 16 months now and is about to walk, and continues to amaze everyone!  We are praising God everyday for her life!

What do you want to do with the rest of your life (the next 50 years!)

Our next 50 years will be filled with many happy times with family and friends, much travel and investing in many different areas.  We look forward to meeting new people, helping to develop new businesses and having the freedom to be anywhere we wish at any time with the people we choose to be with.  It's an awesome life!
