Janet Cowger Macey
After
graduation from high school, I attended Central Business School. I graduated
from there in June 1964. I had my daughter (Dana) in June 1966 and my son
(Jim) in June 1969. I was a stay at home Mom until 1974 when I started working
for the Federal Government. I worked for the Bureau of Reclamation until 1984.
In 1978, I
married my second husband Chuck Macey. In 1984, we moved to Wyoming and both
worked for the Bureau of Land Management. My husband was a Computer Analyst
and I was in Personnel. We lived in Rawlins, WY for 10 years and spent our free
time camping and fishing.
I have three
grandchildren, two boys (15 & 11), and a granddaughter (5). They all live in
Denver. I try to see them as much as possible
I was diagnosed
with Multiply Scleroses in 1986, but probably had it since I was 17 years old.
In June of 1992, I took early retirement. In September of 1993, my husband
retired. In November of 1993, my husband passed away.
In 1994, I
moved to Westcliffe, CO. to be close to my twin sister. I lived there until
December of 1999. Summers are beautiful, but winters are really snowy. I
then moved to Canon City, CO. were I currently live.
In 1998, I
bought a small RV and have been doing a little traveling during the summer
months. My Mother and I have gone to the Grand Canyon and Linda and her
husband and I have made several trips together. We’ve gone to Bryce Canyon,
Zion National Park, and the Canyon Lands National Park and the Arches National
Park in Utah.
I
spend my days reading, sewing and camping. Hope to spend the next years just
being happy and healthy.
