·         Spouse Name  Cheri

·         How long married 37 years

·         Children names and ages

Bryan – 36 – Single.  Technical Manager for Global Crossing in Denver

Barry  – 34 – Married – lives in Parkville, MO – FBO Aircraft Mechanic at MCI.

·         Special accomplishments of children

They were good students, athletes and are college graduates.  I am proud of each of them in their own way.

·         Grandchildren names and age

            Stephan – 12

Caleb     - 9

Megan - 5

·         Special Grandchildren stories

None in particular.  My oldest grandchild is named after me.  The next in line likes to fish even more than I do, and never stops talking.  My granddaughter totally owns me. That just about describes them all.

·         Professional history

I worked in Seattle for several years but my wife and I grew tired of the rain and lonely for Colorado.  We moved back to Denver and I started working for Frontier Airlines.  I was with them for almost twenty years.  A lot of my Frontier years were spent in Grand Junction.

When Frontier shut down I worked briefly for Continental.  I grew very quickly disgusted with the airlines in general and Continent in particular, so when Sprint Communications opened a new office in Denver I started a whole new career in telecom.  After suffering what seemed an eon of training and experience, I moved into the Information Technologies sector with Sprint.  I currently work as an IT Program Manger with the Wireless Division – Sprint PCS.

·            Special talents and hobbies

I teach at our church and tend towards being a closet Hebrew-phile.  I still sing in the choir and occasionally dabble with my guitar, banjo and the piano.  I enjoy reading, photography and at every opportunity, I indulge myself in fishing or in general out of doors activities.  I build and maintain PC’s for a number of people but I get enough of that at work to eliminate any thought of pursuing it as an employment op.  Other than that I’m pretty much just a master of none.

·            What you love to do with your time

When there is time, we have a cabin on Truman Lake that occupies a lot of time.  It gets me out of doors and on the water.  You have to catch a bass to understand.

·            Special places you have traveled

I have had the fortune of traveling to just about every state in the US – as well as visiting most of the major tourist attractions.  I worked for a good part of a year in Yellowstone which was a thrill I shall always remember.  I don’t do near as much traveling around any more which is just fine with me.

·            Favorite High School memory

Most of my memories are of music, sports, and friends.  We had some fun dances, parties and did goofy things that should have got us all killed, especially once we started driving.

·            Favorite ‘60s song

Wonderful, Wonderful – Johnny Mathis

I also like Moon River (Henry Mancini) although the movie didn’t do much for me.  Exodus is a favorite, as is “I fall to Pieces” by Patsy Cline.  “A Summer Place” brings many nice memories.  I also like “You’ll never walk alone” which we sang at our graduation ceremony, even though it isn’t necessarily a 60’s song.

 ·            Most Inspiring Teacher

Alex Campbell – hands down.

·            Anything else you would like to share with the Class

I used to think that the key to life was to live fast, love hard, die young and leave a good looking corpse.

I was right, only I didn’t die young.

What do you want to do with the rest of your life (the next 50 years!)

I guess that first and foremost, I’d like to know that I have another 50 years.  There are fish to be caught, books to be read, songs to sing, and old friends with whom I’d like to be reacquainted.   I hope it doesn’t take another 50+ years to make it all happen.  I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed myself.
