Please call me Dusty – no one except my parents and the IRS has called me Barbara for over 30 years.

College – CSU for awile

Married – twice – both short stories

Lived in Washington D.C. and Kansas City for a while before marrying a very unknown performer and moved to Las Vegas in Sept 1970.  Tried the amateur tennis circuit for a couple of years and even got to play a couple of tournaments in Vail.  Had a lot of fun, but I wasn’t all that good and every year the competition got younger and faster – and I didn’t!

For a while I thought it would be fun to raise pomeranians, but after I discovered I had a serious problem selling the puppies – not because no one wanted them – but because no one was good enough parents for my children.  So after ending up with nine dogs I figured I’d better get them all fixed and get out of the dog raising business.

Now I’m down to four dogs (Zeus, Zoe, Buffy and Muggy) one cat (Zorro), one desert tort (Ernie, who climbs in and out of the doggie door), and one red slider (orphan Annie), who lives in my backyard pond.

I’ve been lucky enough to do some cruising over the years and have spent a bit of time in Mexico.  When I get a chance I like to hook up my dune buggy behind my motor home, head for the beach at San Feliepe, drink lots of margaritas, and turn into a brown bunny.

I am now retired from the casino business after working for the old MGM where I had to escape one early Friday morning – pulling a friend with me.  It seems that the place was burning down!!  After that, it was the Frontier, Desert Inn, Union Plaza and back to the MGM.  I dealt baccarat mostly, some 21, then lastly on the floor.

I now do bookkeeping part time, not very glamorous but remember not everyone can be a cocktail waitress (bad memory) showgirl (to short), or hooker (to old).

Will close for now – looking forward to seeing you all in August.
